Divorce Survival 101 with Dawn
I have always been a life coach, so I decided that I should become certified to do it professionally. I love working with people to solve problems and I am a natural motivator. In a nutshell, I love people. I seek them out. I search for commonality especially with women. I love to learn from women older than myself and I love to share wisdom and empathy with women who are moving through the stages I have already experienced.
In this life I have been greatly blessed. I have had hardships like anyone but each hardship has taught me something and made me stronger. I have learned that I have one life to live and I am the only one in charge of how good or bad it is going to be. I choose to make my life peaceful, loving and joyful. I have been through a painful, international divorce where it seemed that everything was out of my control. I have experienced the fear of pondering what life would be like as a single parent. I have felt the loneliness of abandonment and rejection. I have sacrificed to start life anew. I have grown into a woman I admire and respect. I have stood on the precipice and made the decision to change my life. It is not easy and it requires courage and determination. But, once the decision is made miracles begin to happen. People, knowledge and opportunities begin to fly in your direction. The power of positive, forward movement becomes a part of your DNA. It becomes the balm from which change, healing and growth are born.
During the course of my healing and growth I have been a teacher, a prison ministries coach, a student intern coach, an education consultant, a “Divorce Care” facilitator,a loving and supportive mom and recently, a new wife! My journey has been hard but beautiful and my life is now something I could never have imagined 10 years prior.
My desire is to support women as they move through the most difficult times in life. I have decided to focus my coaching endeavors in the area of Divorce because I know the fear, helplessness and anguish it can cause. In a group setting I will provide support and guidance. I hope to create a space where women can come together and support one-another as well. I will provide experts into our group routinely to educate about such things as legal advice, resources that one can use to learn and grow and make educated decisions, techniques to dissolve anger and frustration so that healing may begin, ways to help children get through the process mitigating as much long-term damage as possible and financial planning for a more solid future. We will focus each week for a period of 8 weeks on the 6 ways that women self- destruct in divorce. We will have open group discussion and share in order to create connections that will serve each member well beyond the sessions.
The Divorce Survival 101 sessions will be 90 minute and run for 4 weeks several times a year. I do hope you will join us and begin the process that will lead to a richer, fuller, freer life. I will be waiting for you on the precipice!
With great love,
